Our terracotta mosaic tiles bring the warmth of the Mediterranean coast into everyday spaces without the weight and hassle of traditional terracotta.

Each design in our Terra Fina collection is engineered with a thin profile, so you get the sun-baked color and texture of classic terracotta in a tile that's easier to cut, carry, and install. The range includes 3x3 star and cross mosaics in stripe and checkered layouts, plus our two best-selling patterns, New York and London, both long-time favorites among interior designers and homeowners doing their own kitchen, bathroom, or courtyard projects.

Every sheet is mesh-mounted, meaning the individual tiles arrive pre-arranged in the pattern and you align the sheet, press it into thin-set, and grout. No piecing together dozens of small tiles by hand.

Why We Created Terra Fina

Terracotta has decorated courtyards, kitchens, and floors for thousands of years, and it's easy to see why. It has a warmth that manufactured materials struggle to fake, and it only looks better with age.

But traditional terracotta tile has a real downside: it's thick, heavy, and unforgiving to install, which drives up labor cost and makes DIY installs impractical.

We set out to fix that. Terra Fina is our answer. A terracotta mosaic tile engineered with a thinner body than standard terracotta, so it's meaningfully lighter to handle and ship, while still being built to hold up to decades of foot traffic. So, the same inspiration we created our all mosaic tiles.

The goal wasn't to compromise on the material's character, just on the parts of it that made installation harder than it needed to be.

Star and Cross Tiles (3x3 format mosaics) A geometric, pattern-led design built from interlocking star and cross shapes. Available in two layouts:

Built Thin, Built to Last

Traditional terracotta tile is thick by nature, which adds weight, raises shipping cost, and makes cutting around outlets, drains, and corners more difficult for installers.

Our tiles are made with a reduced thickness that keeps the material easier to work with on-site, without sacrificing the durability terracotta is known for.

The result is a tile that's simpler to handle during installation and still holds up to years of regular use in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor-adjacent spaces like covered patios and mudrooms.

As with all natural terracotta, we recommend sealing before grouting and periodically thereafter, particularly in wet areas like showers and bathroom floors, to protect against staining and moisture absorption.

Installation: Mesh-Mounted, Start to Finish

Because each sheet is mesh-mounted, the pattern-matching work is already done before it reaches you. A typical install follows three steps:

1. Align the mesh-backed sheet against your layout lines, checking pattern continuity with the adjacent sheet.
   
   
2. Press the sheet into thin-set mortar, working from the center outward to avoid lippage.
   
   
3. Grout once the thin-set has cured, then seal per the terracotta care guidance above.

This is standard mosaic installation practice and follows the same approach used for ceramic and stone mosaic sheets, so most tile setters will already be familiar with the process.

We recommend a professional installer for large-format floor projects and wet areas, and DIY is realistic for smaller accent applications like backsplashes.
